A woman was embarrassed after she attempted to save a sheep, but ended up needing rescuing herself.
The woman and her partner saw the sheep stranded on a narrow ledge in a quarry. Without hesitation to climbed 2.6 metres up the rockface to save the animal. But when she realised how high up she was she got scared and was unable to get herself back down.
She was frozen in place until the RSPC turned up to free the sheep. Eventually the RSPCA officer was also able to get the woman back down to safety. He warned people not try and save animals themselves, even though it might be tempting to help. “It must have been an unpleasant experience for her, as well as the ewe, but I’m glad we were able to get both of them down safely.”
