Firefighters in Washington rescued a Californian woman who fell into a vault toilet while trying to retrieve her phone at Olympic Park National Forest.

The woman, in her 40s, was using the toilet when she dropped her phone. She tried to retrieve her phone by using dog leads to tie herself to the toilet so she could reach down and grab it. Unfortunately, this didn’t work and she fell headfirst into the vault.

After several failed attempts to get out on her own, she resorted to calling 911 for help. Firefighters made a makeshift platform for her to stand on and jump out. The woman wasn’t injured but was “strongly encouraged to seek medical attention after being exposed to human waste, but she only wanted to leave”.
