The 98five family does and thinks you should too!

To celebrate 98five’s Operation Christmas Child — giving gifts to kids in poverty — our on-air teams ran against the clock this week to fill a shoebox for Shoebox Sunday on October 25.

School holiday Brekky host Tyson and producer Corey competed against Mornings/Nights host JD and Drive host Christine.

They had 6 rules:

  • 5 minutes
  • choose either girl or boy and from the age groups: 2-4, 5-9 or 10-14
  • include 6 items: something to love, something to wear, something for personal hygiene, something for school, something to play with and something special
  • spend $10 or under (but you can spend as much as you like!)
  • teams had to stick together while shopping

98five’s Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child shares God’s love in a tangible way by giving gift-filled shoeboxes to impoverished kids around the world, who may have never received a Christmas present before.

You and your family can have fun packing the shoeboxes like the 98five family has, drop it off at one of the participating churches or locations found at the pledge link and then Operation Christmas Child delivers it.

And by paying the $9 per box transport cost, you also get a tracking label attached to your Shoebox that shows you exactly which country it ends up in!
