Chase some waterfalls …

Did you know there are quite a few waterfalls right here in Perth? And with the rain we have been having the last few weeks plus the forecast of sunny weather all weekend now is a great time to do a day trip and go chase down a few waterfalls. Why not check out one of these waterfalls in or near Perth:

Hovea Falls & National Park Falls in John Forrest National Park

Lesmurdie Falls

Serpentine Falls

Whistlepipe Gully, Kalamunda

Marrinup Falls, Dwellingup

Bells Rapids

Sixty Foot Falls, Ellis Brook Valley

Noble Falls, Gidgegannup

Popcorn Plans?

With all the cinemas back open again this weekend with social distancing in place and a PILE of discounts and specials it’s the perfect time to get to the cinemas and enjoy the buttery deliciousness of Cinema Popcorn.

French up your life …

The Alliance Francoise French Film festival started just before the cinemas shut so now with everything open again they have relaunched the festival to run from this weekend till August 4th there is a wonderful line up of films. My personal fav pick of the season would be Edmond, based on the 1897 play, Cyrano de Bergerac it is awkward, funny, sweet and just a toughly enjoyable watch. Spread your Wings a family film, inspired by a true story,  would make for a unique movie day out with the family. Find the full festival line up and book tickets here.

Drive In’s – Plus don’t forget that Galaxy Drive-ins is now up and running again, this week with the classic film Ghostbusters showing.

Couch Cosies?

Entertain the kids …

ABC iView Kids is always great but during these school holidays when you might need a little more they have you covered. With a whole new season of Little J & Big Cuz plus a PILE of new Peppa Pig episodes as well as  Peppa Pig games, colouring in & craft activities.

Everything old becomes new again …

Between 10Play, 9Now & 7Plus there are entire seasons of older shows you may have missed or just are ready to binge-watch again… Here are some suggestions to get you started.

Want to snuggle on the couch with some popcorn & hot chocolate then Parenthood is a great Drama with 3 seasons from the 2010’s that you can sink into. With a complex layered characters and life issues that really do happen (just maybe not usually all to one family) it’s perfect for a night or day on the couch. Brother’s & Sisters, which is a little older, is also another complex drama about family you can sink into.

Looking for a light funny dramedy the The Mindy Project and are great options. The Mindy Project has six seasons of hilarity with creator, writer and star Mindy Kaling (The Office, Oceans 8). With only one Season American Princess is a shorter watch but still filled with a lot of laughs. Or go for pure comedy with all 5 seasons of Malcolm in the Middle available.

Tune in during Classic Drive next Friday during the 3 pm or 5 pm hour more ideas on how to spend your time over the School Holidays! Plus as always the Sonshine Diary also has plenty of other options for your weekend plans.

Whether you go adventuring, plan to have popcorn or cosy up on the couch – I hope you stay safe & enjoy whatever is in your weekend planner!
