Today is Watering Day, we are joining forces with Water for Africa to build life-saving wells in the villages of Tanzania.

Paediatric nurse, Bec Morrison, joined Mike to explain the link between health and clean water. Mercyhands is a group of WA nurses who have partnered with Water for Africa to provide medical assistance to people with water-related health issues.

One of the hospitals there had unreliable access to unclean water “The theatres, wards, patients, keeping linen clean. It affects everything.” Fortunately, Water for Africa was able to provide a well and Mercyhands volunteered to work in the hospital. “Some of the kids would have died because they couldn’t get access to antibiotics. We were able to provide treatment and we’ve heard stories that they survived and are doing well.”

Every 90 seconds a child dies from a waterborne disease. Give someone access to life changing, clean water here. Listen to the full chat below!
