Every week Bec and Jeziel share an interesting fact they recently learnt. Today I learnt…

Qantas lets you block the seat next to you for a ‘neighbour free’ option.

Qantas is set to trial a new program called ‘neighbour free’. Any passenger can pay extra to guarantee that the seat next to them will be empty. Two days before the departure, customers will receive an email inviting them to upgrade to the ‘neighbour free’ option. Prices start from $30 and it is only available on some domestic flights.

The Carmen Sandiego Show was created because Americans knew little about geography.

Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego was a game where the player was a detective chasing a rogue agent named Carmen Sandiego. She hopped around the world trying to steal landmarks like the Eiffel tower. Using the clues, players needed to figure out where she was hiding. The trivia show was made off the success of the game. It was also partially created in response to the results of a National Geographic survey that indicated Americans had alarmingly little knowledge of geography, with one in four being unable to locate the Soviet Union or the Pacific Ocean.
