Reading Time: 2 minutes

Each week Pieta Sharpe from Perth Happenings joins Mel and Jeziel to chat about some awesome events taking place around our lovely city. Here’s what’s happening this weekend:

For the kids: Kidchella

Bring the kids and join this free, family event at Tompkins Park on Sunday, 4 November 2018 from 10.00am to 2.00pm. There will be arts and crafts activities, amusement rides, kids DJ, glitter tattoos, face painting, bouncy castles, giant bubbles and plenty of food trucks to take care of hungry tummies. Community safety will be interwoven throughout the festival, with Constable Care making a visit along with other community and safety groups manning information stalls. The kids can even climb aboard a police car and a fire truck complete with sirens and flashing lights.

For the teens: WAMFest Live Saturday: Perth Cultural Centre

Hundreds of artists are set to take over venues and outdoor stages across Northbridge for a series of FREE shows, as part of #WAMFest Live presented by Act-Belong-Commit – aka the country’s biggest celebration of emerging West Australian artists, bands and producers. The Perth Cultural Centre will host an outdoor stage open to all ages, featuring the freshest selection of WA talent dropping sets from 11am till after 8pm.

For the adults: Japanese Film Festival

The Japanese film festival is back in town, celebrating all things Japanese cinema. There’s a ton of great movies on at Event Cinemas Innaloo, with showings throughout the day. The festival wraps up on Sunday so there’s plenty of time to get down and immerse yourself in some culture!
