Thornlie Christian College is seeking urgent financial giving for one of our precious students who requires critical brain surgery in Sydney.
Genique Beukes was diagnosed with Pilocytic Astocytoma early in 2016. The condition is a mushroom shaped tumour growing on her optic nerve. The tumour restricts blood flow to Genique’s eyes resulting in vision loss. Doctor’s in Perth attempted to remove the tumour in a six-hour operation, but were unsuccessful.
Genique now has an opportunity to have surgery performed by world renowned brain surgeon Professor Charlie Teo. The cost of the surgery will cost in excess of $45,000.
Unfortunately, this figure is prohibitive to the Beukes Family, who are also going through another major medical issue with their other daughter Zanneh (six years old) who requires surgery on a tumour on her spine which was also diagnosed earlier this year!
As a College community we are appealing to you to support this family and to also pass on this request to anyone you know who may wish to support this amazing family.
The Beukes Family have set up a fundraising page through Chuffed (where 100% of the donations are received by the applicants): chuffed.org/project/geniques-brain-surgery.
We would like to thank you for joining us in our quest to reduce the immense stresses that this family, precious in our community, are facing.
