Want to Go Adventuring?

Hip Hop & Hummus …

The Mez is starting their new Sunday series for November and it is such a summer vibe! The Hip Hop & Hummus series each Sunday afternoon at The Mez in Mount Hawthorn is a family-friendly fun way to just chill on a Sunday afternoon. If live music and Fried Chicken Meze boards aren’t enough to entice you then the drink specials, kids playground in the middle of the outdoor dining precinct and fabulous community feel is worth a visit. Find the details here.

 Truck & Treat …

The Truck or Treat Food Truck Fiesta this Saturday night (Halloween) at Mawson Park, Hillarys is a great way to get out with the family, have an excuse to create some fun costumes and have a treat from the wonderful food trucks we have here in Perth. With entertainment, kid’s activities & spot prizes there is plenty of fun to go with great food. Find all the details here.

With trick or treat activities all over Perth this Saturday from shopping centres, markets & restaurants, even Ikea, you are sure to find something in your area. But if you are looking for an alternative to the traditional trick or treat activities then The Oasis Church in Jandakot is perfect. They are hosting a fun alternative to Halloween with two different programs for different ages. Get the kids dressed up and enjoy games, face painting, prizes, a dance party and snacks. Register here and start planning those costumes.

Carnivals aren’t over just yet …

If you are missing the carnivals from School holidays or didn’t manage to make it to any then don’t stress there are still some carnivals running! This Friday & Saturday at the Woodlake Sports Ground is The Ellenbrook Community Carnival. With carnival rides, food, coffee, show bags and game stalls this is a fun way to spend a family day out. Entry is free and the rides, food and the rest are all pay-as-you-go. Find all the details here.

This new 25th Anniversary show catapults Riverdance into the 21st century. So immerse yourself in the beauty, power & emotion of this music and dance. Get your tickets here.

Movies in the sky…

Well not quite in the sky but close…. The Rooftop Movies is opening this weekend for another summer season of watching films in the middle of the city on top of a roof. With old school vibes, the sounds of the city around you and delicious food & drink options this is a unique and wonderful way to have a night out. Sunday is the classic film Edward Scissorhands and the rest of this season’s film program is that wonderful blend of classics, film favourites from over the years and new films. Book for this weekend or look at the whole program here.

Opera on screen…

Ever wanted to see the Paris Opera? Well we can’t travel to Paris right now but we can see it on the big screen at The Palace Cinemas, Raine Square. This weekend is the screening of Manon, a comic opera in five acts. This new production brings it from the 1880s to the 20th Century and the roaring twenties. Book your tickets here.

Couch Cosies?

Fall in love with baby Yoda again….

The Mandalorian from the Star Wars franchise enthralled the world with the first season, from fantastic storylines, to brilliant acting & production the series felt like all you wanted from a Star Wars show but the best part was Baby Yoda. Technically called The Child this tiny puppet-like character stole our hearts even those of us who try to fight it. This Weekend Disney Plus releases season 2. I highly recommend a good binge watch of this series, or if you haven’t seen the first one then get into it!

Sweetness Binge….

ACCTV has the entire series of the Signed, Sealed & Delivered movies. Hallmark films that are sweet, quirky, a little bit corny and everything you want from a Hallmark film. So grab the Chocolate ice cream, crank the air-con and settle in for a binge of sweetness.

Christmas Spirit….

Now I am a HUGE Christmas fan… I’m the person who will host Christmas tree decorating parties, watch Christmas Movies all year round and so for me the Christmas season starts as soon as new Christmas movies hit the TV or streaming services! Which means it is now TIME for Christmas.  Each week until Christmas I will be bringing you a Christmas movie recommendation so you can bring start to ramp up Christmas.

This week’s suggestion is the perfect family Christmas movie. It came out last year and is available on Disney Plus. The family film Noelle staring Anna Kendrick (Poppy from Trolls) is sweet, funny and has a beautiful message about finding you are and fighting to stay true to that. Of course, it’s all wrapped up in gorgeous Christmas vibes.

Tune in during Classic Drive next Friday during the 3 pm or 5 pm hour more ideas on how to spend your time over the School Holidays! Plus as always the Sonshine Diary also has plenty of other options for your weekend plans.

Whether you go adventuring, plan to have popcorn or cosy up on the couch – I hope you stay safe & enjoy whatever is in your weekend planner!
