Most of us would have heard of this popular spice and used it in curries, baked treats, and desserts but were you aware of the health benefits of Cinnamon?
There are two different types of cinnamon, Ceylon and Cassia. Ceylon cinnamon is native to Sri Lanka and southern parts of India. It is a tan-brown colour and has a mild sweet flavour. and soft flaky layers. Cassia cinnamon originated in Southern China. It is a dark brown-red colour, with a stronger spicy flavour and thicker stickers that curl into rolls when dried.

This recipe is also perfect for Mothers Day which is just around the corner. “I created this recipe because it was a childhood favourite of mine and I really missed it. So (I thought) how can I make this recipe like the flavours that I remember as a child…and I actually was happy with it…this healthier, nourishing version.”
