If I had my second child as my first child we would have never had a second child.

This is probably a statement many parents can relate to, every child is different even if they are related. So it is important to know the different personality types of your children. Graham Irvine, from Kingsway Christian College, joined Mike to explain the choleric personality.

Someone with a choleric personality is typically extroverted, goal-oriented, and ambitious. As a result, many of them are natural born leaders. However, they can also be short-tempered and even violent due to the nature of their personality.

“Their need for control isn’t about being rebellious. They’re just hard-wired to believe their way is best. Often we misunderstand that.”

As a parent of a choleric once we understand that we can ask ourselves “OK, in what area can I give them control?” Of course, you need to control the outside framework, but understanding that hard-wired need for control means we can find ways to meet that need.
