On Sunday, Daylight Savings kicked in and across Australia businesspeople gave out an enormous groan.Daylight savings

We normally have three time zones in Australia, but for the next six months of daylight savings, we must deal with five. Frustrating, confusing, painful, and just plain ridiculous are some of the words used by businesses to describe the current time zones. The pandemic has made us more dependent on Zoom, but you now need a mathematical degree to line everyone up at the same time. And while we’re having afternoon tea in the west, east coasters are sitting down for dinner – what’s with that?

Nic Hayes, Managing Director of Media Stable, joined Mike to discuss the annual daylight savings debate. He says we should be “all in” on DLS and asked when will state leaders get the gumption to end this annual fiasco?

Tanya agrees with Nic. “Definitely PRO daylight savings. We have 3 young boys, 7, 5 and 3, and my husband would love that extra bit of daylight after he gets home from work to play outside with them.”

But others like Michael disagreed. “Let sleeping dogs lie. There is no need to bring this subject up. There has been several referendums and no one in WA wants daylight saving. It’s a total disruption to way of life here.” Michael, WUNDOWIE
