Pastor Shannon Hopper from Nations Church Phnom Penh, joined Kirste and Dan on The Breakfast Show.

They discussed how the church is helping the community and spreading God’s word during a difficult time. Like the rest of the world, Covid-19 has had a huge impact on Cambodia. Restrictions and lockdowns don’t allow people to go outside to buy food. Instead they have to wait for the government to deliver groceries. Due to the population density many families are going without food.

Nations church held a food distribution that groceries to starving families. “We called one family and they said we just finished our big tub of rice and we thought maybe we’ve got a few days left until we don’t have any food. Then suddenly they got a call from the church saying hey we want to bring you guys some food. That is our focus at the moment.”

Pastor Shannon also shared the great job the Nation’s team in Phnom Penh “They’ve done an amazing job at doing their best to respond in faith and not in fear.”
