Each week, Bec and Jeziel ask local leaders and pastors, to share an inspirational message.

This week Pete Roberts from Encounter Church talked about the importance of sleep. There are a lot of things in the world that cause us to feel stressed and worried.  At a certain level stress can be a good thing that motivates us and keeps us accountable. But if we continue to let that stress and worry build up without taking time for ourselves, it can become debilitating.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” -Psalm 23

Sleep helps to restore us for the next day. Most adults need 7-9 hours of sleep each night to feel refreshed and ready for the day.

“Going to sleep is the ultimate sign of trust. You are trusting that the world is still happening that you’ll wake up tomorrow morning. The sun will come up and you’ll be able to get onto the next phase. But if we don’t get enough sleep we get run down and stressed.”

So if you are feeling stressed get a good night of sleep. Let us know your thoughts by texting or messaging us on socials. Listen to the full chat below!
