Founder and CEO of Shalom House, Peter Lyndon-James flew over to Sydney to humbly accept the WA Charity Award won by the not-for-profit rehabilitation centre at the 2017 Telstra WA Business Awards

Peter Lyndon-James and his wife Amanda

Now that Peter is back from Sydney and Mike from Cambodia, our usual Wednesday morning program is back in full swing. Peter came in to the Studio to chat about what it means to him and the organisation for winning the award, and also to continue helping tackle hard questions from our listening family about dealing with substance abuse situations.

If you missed the chat, here are the videos of Peter responding to 98five listener questions.

Q: My 36-year-old brother has a drug problem that spans 17 years. Marijuana, heroin, speed, meth and alcohol. He simply is not a functioning person in society he has two great children that he has abandoned and left with my mother. He has destroyed our family. My younger brother recently committed suicide after a bad spell hooked on ice. I am on the brink of turning my back for ever. Any advice you could give me or strategy on convincing him to turn his life around? Something he says he wants to do but never takes any steps to achieve this. He will end up dead, very sick or back in jail if there is no intervention.
