West Coast Eagles legend Sam Butler is joining The Brekky Show for this year’s Miracles Day in Nepal! The team will fly out this Friday and host the Brekky Show live all next week from one of the poorest provinces in the country.
“By spreading their wings, these Eagles can show the world in a different light.”
What is Miracles Day?
On Miracles Day, Thursday 15th of August, we’re going to invite you family to give the miracle of sight to people blind from cataracts in one of the world’s poorest places.
This Friday The Breakfast Show along with Sam Butler is heading to Nepal! While broadcasting the show live next week from a CBM partner hospital, the team are going to meet some of the people who will receive this life-saving surgery.
For a $33 donation, someone will receive a 12-minute operation to remove their cataracts. Cataracts are the world’s leading cause of blindness in middle and low-income countries. Cataract blindness would pose challenges for any of us, but it is particularly devastating for those living in developing countries. Where there are often fewer resources to support people with vision impairment. This leads to more people becoming vulnerable to extreme poverty.
Every year our Brekky team head to another country to bring attention to these operations. Along with announcers from our sister stations across the country. Since Miracles Day began seven years ago, Australians have given an incredible 152,666 Miracles gifts of sight-saving surgery!
