Sally Hewitt, from Aging Gratefully, joined us for Radiothon!
Aging Gratefully evolved after the sudden death of her husband. The healing process began when she leaned into gratitude. A friend brought a beautiful ornament that had the word ‘hope’ written on it. “She said we always have hope Sally. If we don’t then what do we have?”
For Sally hope and gratefulness are intertwined. “When you are in the midst of darkness and you search for that grace. That is where you find the hope.” Instead of feeling feeling resentful, Sally shifted her mindset and was grateful for the years she spent with her husband.
“Hope is sustained optimism. When you are feeling really low you can find that little spark. It’s the light in the darkness that hasn’t gone out. That’s where your grace is.”
