Reading Time: 2 minutes

Over the last 3 days, Kirste, Corey, Morro and Buttsy have spent a lot of time with a particularly special 12 year old boy. Sajan has cataracts in both eyes and can’t see long distance.

Sajan says his friends always try to involve him in the games that they are playing, but usually he has to (try to) watch or listen. But they never make him feel left out. He really wants to watch movies and play video games when he gets his sight back!

Sajan’s mum is a single parent who works as a farmer. She’s very hopeful for his surgery, she can’t wait to see him studying hard after the operation. Sajan hasn’t been able to see the blackboard at school so he’s been struggling to learn. But now his mum says he can study hard and become a doctor!

He was pretty shy before the operation and didn’t want to open up, but the Brekky Team actually witnessed his operation and were present when his eye patch was removed. Just 24 hours later his whole life had transformed, he was so chatty –  a new kid! Morro said he was “trying to keep a lid on it” when he was doing his eye test. But when the doctor held up his fingers for Sajan to count, Sajan just burst out laughing. After all this, the doctors took Sajan down to the sunglasses store and he picked out a bright red pair. Morro pulled out his phone and they took his first selfy ever, and in true Morro fashion they pulled out the footy.
