Ride for Compassion Coast to Coast allows cyclists to help raise money for children living in poverty. The event involves a 4000 km journey that takes cyclists from WA to Newcastle!

Rodney Olsen, Compassion’s Relationship Manager, joined Bec and Jeziel to tell us more. “I have crossed Australia on bike 6 times. Each time at the end of it you think why did I do this again? A couple of weeks later I’m like when can I do this again?”

They are leaving Perth on the 17th of September to embark on their 4200km journey. Including 28 days of cycling and 5 days of rest. The money raised will go towards children who have been affected by the pandemic. “Not necessarily those who have contracted Covid but those who have been affected by it. There have been over 124 million people who have been forced back into extreme poverty because of the pandemic.” So this year they are doubling their efforts to help make a difference.

But they are ready quite ready. “We really need more support crew. Those who travel in vehicles alongside the riders. Who make sure everything on track.”
