On Thursday, the Perth Wildcats head to Brisbane to take on the Bullets, after what was a dominant display by Gleeson’s squad last round, defeating the bullets 88-73 at RAC Arena. The side will look to continue their sizzling form and show the league they are the benchmark team of the competition.

Game two of the round is back at home against Melbourne United, with the Wildcats back on the plane to Perth for the clash on Saturday the 27th of October. A top of the table clash, the game will mean a lot for both teams, with a top spot potentially up for grabs.

The Wildcats will be taking to the court in pink uniform, to raise awareness and funds for Breast Care WA. A cause close to the team’s heart with Coach Trevor Gleeson’s wife Dawn battling breast cancer.

Wildcats Captain Damien Martin Spoke after training and said;

“The team are motivated to get the win for Trevor, not so much for the team. Sometimes the games bigger than the sport it is, and this is one where we will be representing more than the Wildcats pride when we step out in pink, the pride of all those suffering from the disease. Dawn has gone through two bouts of Breast cancer, she’s one of the toughest people I’ve met.”

“Seeing how Trev handled it when it was at its worst last year, to still come to work and do his job as well as he could, was something the playing group admired.”
