Should parents be charged if they’re dropping kids off at school early or picking them up late?

A private school in Perth’s south has said it’s going to start charging parents if they drop off or pick up their child outside of the designated school hours. It comes after several children were left waiting at the school gate hours before or after school started/finished. So who is actually responsible in this case the school or the parent? Simon Creek, from HHG Legal Group, joined Mike to give his professional opinion.

“If a school is faced with a bit of a looming and growing problem like this then they’ve got the liberty and flexibility to come up with some solutions that aren’t too lopsided in favour of (let’s call them) slightly recalcitrant parents.”
