Aussies kids are facing an extra year of school.

From 2030, children in New South Wales and Victoria can choose to receive an additional year of early education. Students can enrol in free pre-Kindergarten classes that run five days a week. The classes aren’t likely to be compulsory when they are first introduced and are expected to benefit working-class families. “In the next 10 years, every child in Victoria and NSW will experience the benefits of a full year of play-based learning before their first year of school.”
