Supporting natural melatonin sleep hormone production, it’s not something you would probably think about.
Mel Jaye from Eden Naturopathy once again dropped in for a chat on Weekdays with Mike. She said, a good night’s sleep is imperative to good health but most of us aren’t getting it. Blue-light emitting devices such as phones, tablets and TV’s, our main source of evening entertainment, are actually keeping us awake longer.
Mel has these tips for naturally increasing your natural melatonin production:
- Avoiding bright lights around 2 hours before bed
- Create a drop in body temperature, (particularly relevant for menopausal women)
- Eat foods containing melatonin.
- Eat your last meal of the day well and truly before bedtime.
