Research has proven that when kids spend more time outdoors, they write more creatively, more descriptively and longer paragraphs.
A research group of out Curtin University ran a study to test out what happens when Children spend more time outdoors. Two different groups of children were asked to perform the same task. ‘Write a poem about the bush’.
One group were taken out into the bush and the other group stayed in the classroom. Unexpectedly the group of children who were taken outside wrote much more creative poems!
The senses of being around nature inspires our kids, so its important for them to get out of the classroom, out of the house as much as possible.
Thanks to Kath Healy from Nature Play for this insight!
