Bec and Jeziel ask local leaders and pastors in our community, to share an inspirational message. This week Pastor Mark Edwards , from Inglewood Community Church, talked about having a friend you can trust. Midweek Motivation

Moses was close friends with his father-in-law, Jethro. Through difficult times, Jethro gave him meaningful and honest advice. That is the type of person we all want in our lives. We all want a friend we can trust to be there for us, celebrate with us and tell us the truth. But how do we know who to trust?

Pastor Mark believes there are three stages of friendship. When you go to a café or restaurant, watch what the other person does with their phone. In the first stage of friendship, their phone will be up and their attention will be diverted from you for other texts or phone calls. In the second stage, their phone will be face down on the table as they start to prioritise you. The third, and best, stage of friendship is if their phone is off or in their pocket and they are solely focused on you.

There is that growing sense of intimacy and friendship where you can be real with each other. They’re are people I can trust. That’s someone I want to  speak into my life and I want to be that type of person as well.”
