Each week, Bec and Jeziel ask local leaders and pastors, to share some inspiration. This week Pastor Josh Thomas from Lesmurdie Baptist Church reminded us not to be obsessed with money.

It can be easy to get wrapped up in the idea of earning more money and accumulating wealth. Although money can do great things and change lives it is important to not let it become the end goal. Jesus said that you can serve God or serve money, you can not do both. When we chase money we can become consumed by a greedy and selfish mindset.

So how can we prevent money from taking over? Give it away. If you are unable to give something away then it owns you. “As we all know when we come to the end of our lives money is not what gets talked about it’s relationships, the people, and stories. Giving money away will create more stories.”
