Sam Vigus recently returned to 98five’s team as our newly appointed Marketing Manager after nine years away from the station following the birth of her second child.
I worked at Sonshine in a range of roles between 1998 and 2012 (with a three year stint doing missions work in Cambodia in there too!) and loved my on-air roles as News Director and Announcer – I was Sam Willans back then! After taking some time out to care for my children when they were toddlers I then spent the past six years working as Marketing Communications Manager at Royal Life Saving WA. My role there saw me lead a full restructure of the organisation’s media, marketing and communications strategies. Although I really enjoyed that role, around six months ago, during my evening walk and prayer time, I felt a strong desire to get back into Christian media!
A few months later I noticed Bevan mention on his LinkedIn feed that Sonshine was looking for a Marketing Manager. I just had to apply! When I was working at the station before I always told people that coming to work was like coming home to family. It’s a ministry I’ve remained passionate about as a listener and supporter in my time away from working here. I’m really excited to return to the family. To be a part of the continued amazing development of Sonshine’s reach across Perth, WA and worldwide through the incredible opportunities that digital content and communications now provide!
Outside of work I love walking, and can be seen taking my evening wander along the coast most nights! I also love spending time with my husband and kids riding our electric scooter “train” for fun.
