Rob Ramsden, Brekky’s new Dad Diaries guest.
It’s Dad Diaries 2019, and we’ve got a bunch of new dads. Including an awesome father, we had the opportunity of meeting at one of our Free Coffee Fridays! Just down the road from the studio when we visited Collier Primary School, he was manning the BBQ, we met Rob Ramsden.
Rob has 3 kids, 18, 14 and 7 years old, 2 girls and 1 boy who is in the middle. Rob works in human resources, he helps leaders lead their team, helps teams work better together and helps engage culture in the workplace (sounds like the perfect resumé for a dad to us.)
We got chatting to Rob because he’s super involved in The Fathering Project at Collier Primary. As a member of the P&C, they decided that they should work towards getting dads all across the school more engaged in what was going on.
“We saw mostly the mums dropping off picking up. Seeing dads kind of float around on the skirts of the school community. So we asked – how do we engage the dads and then engage with each other?”
Rob can’t even quite remember how he found it. But it was a light bulb moment when he stumbled across The Fathering Project. He got in touch with the principal of the P&C at Como Primary School, learnt how awesome and successful the project was in their school. So the program was launched at Collier!
We’ve got a really good crew of dads and we’ve had a couple of events. (One of those being running the BBQ breakfast at Free Coffee Friday.) This year we’ve got a full program of events for dads and events for dads and their kids.
We can’t wait to hear what else Rob has in his dad-arsenal, welcome to the family Rob!
