What do we love?

Unlikely animal friends!

What have we got for you!

Unlikely animal friends!

Unlikely besties Bonedigger the 190 KG lion and 5kg Milo the dachshund met at G.W. Exotic Animal Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Bonedigger was raised at home from a cub by double amputee, zookeeper John Reike who then introduced him to his weiner friend when he had to move him to a real enclosure.

Milo the dachshund even cleans Bonedigger the lions teeth.
Bonedigger actually has a bone disease, making his front two paws slightly crippled. John says Milo and the other dachshunds that lived at the park could sense Bonedigger was disabled and sought to comfort and protect him. Now they all live, eat and play together all the time!

John lost his legs in a bungee jumping accident after falling through a trap door. After 5 years of pain staking treatment, John got his life back on track through zookeeping. He says raising Bonedigger was just as much therapy for him as for the lion.

Apparently the big cat “liked to play tug of war with my prosthetic legs, which is good, because I guess that would hurt otherwise!’

Now who says cats and dogs can’t be friends?
