Every day The Breakfast Show serves up a piping hot dish of extra news. The stories you may have missed but will definitely want to hear! Today a landlord’s sweet gift to his tenant made headlines.
A landlord in America has gone viral after his tenant shared the generous act of kindness he gifted her. Last week the landlord, Alan, texted Christine, the tenant, telling her “not to worry about rent this month – we’ll sort it out later”. He texted her again asking if her family had groceries. Christine replied, telling him they had a few packets of meat left and she had to go to the shops soon.
“Ok, stay safe,” he told her.
A few hours later Christine received another text from him telling her to check the front porch. She opened the door to this:
SOOO My landlord Alan called me earlier and told me not to worry about rent this month and we will worry about it later…
Christine opened the door the find more than a dozen bags of groceries, full of essentials like bread, milk, veggies and nappies! “GOD BLESS YOU” she captioned the photo.
The most amazing thing about this is that it’s not a unique story. There have been countless stories from around the world of people reporting tenants in their neighbourhood are putting a pause on rent collection for now or dropping off gift cards or hampers to their tenants.
It’s so encouraging and inspiring to see that while the COVID19 curve is flattening, kindness and generosity is only increasing!
