Lakeside Joondalup makes a stand against sexploitation

Lakeside Joondalup have made a bold decision to blackout lingerie store Honey Birdette’s window display advertising upcoming ‘Santa Parade’.

Collective Shout reported Lakeside responded to local mum Lyn Kennedy when she expressed her concern towards inappropriate images splashed around the shopping centre.

Sexualisation hurts kids every day

It’s great that Lakeside negotiated with Honey Birdette to blackout the ads for the Santa parade. We presume they are sincere and acting in the best interests of children. But exposure to sexualised and porn themed content is harmful to children every day, not just Christmas.
