Pastor Phil Ayres, from Kingdom City Church, joined Jeziel to help us build strong marriages.gift or given

Do you see your spouse as a gift or a given?  What is the mindset you have towards your relationship? If its wrong you miss the joy you have in your relationship. When you see your spouse as a gift you keep alive a sense of wonder. If you view them as a given you aren’t valuing who they are.

“My prayer is that everyone of us is able to enjoy the true riches of Christmas. Ultimately that is found in authentic and deep relationships.”

  1. Be creative: Keep  your spouse guessing with small or big surprises e.g. notes in their lunch, a bouquet of flowers, their favourite dinner.
  2. Be vocal: Tell your spouse that you love and appreciate them.
  3. Be historical: develop the culture of sharing fun memories. When you reminisce it brings a sense of bonding and fun.
  4. Be personally present in conversation. Allow your time together to be sacred and beautiful.
