Is it time to abandon annual performance reviews? Is it time to abandon annual performance reviews?
Nick Marvin, from Marvin HR, joined Mike to discuss this question. Research shows more than half of annual performance reviews do not motivate employees to improve. Nick recommended that team leaders meet with their teams at least once a month (ideally once a week).
“I think we’ve got to get rid of them (annual performance reviews). They are archaic, they don’t work, they can be traumatic…I just don’t think they work in this day in age.”
Team leaders are encouraged to cover these areas: How are you going as a human being? Are you connecting to the company’s purpose? How are you going working with your team? Encourage your employees to play to their strengths.
