Humpback whales are no longer endangered!

For the first time in 60 years, humpback whales have been removed from Australia’s threatened species list!

There were an estimated 125 000 humpback whales before human whaling activity. At the height of the whaling industry that number was reduced to 1500. But today it is believed there are over 40 000 humpback whales! The Australian government is calling the success “one of the most majestic animal recovery stories ever recorded
