Naturopath Melanie Jaye, joined Mike to talk about intermittent fasting.

Intermittent fasting has been popular for many different reasons. It is essentially an eating pattern that cycles between times of fasting and times of eating on a daily basis.  But when people talk about this they don’t normally specify what foods to eat. There’s no point talking about the health benefits of intermittent fasting and giving your body and digestive system a break and then making poor food choices. Want to give it a try? Start slowly with a 12 hour period of fasting on a daily basis. “Think about that as your last meal at around 7-8pm and then you’re having your breakfast at 7-8am”

It does depend on your other life activities. For example if you’re going to the gym first or if someone’s pregnant/breastfeeding that’s a different story. But you’re body needs time to balance glucose levels and fasting can help with this. Want assistance in making a healthier you? Check out Mel’s site Tweak Health.
