Every kid is special, fearfully and wonderfully made by God.

Craig Hunter, from Rehoboth Christian College, joined Mike to talk about kids with special needs. Special needs is defined as any kid who might need extra help because of a medical, emotional, or learning problem. As parents, there should be less stigma around getting a diagnosis to help our child get support.

What can we do at school to make sure my child getting help?
Talk to their teachers, especially in early childhood years about development signs. Teachers are trained for this. If your child is not getting help, you have a right to ask why.

What can I do at home to make sure my child getting help?
Research organisations or support groups that can help you. Don’t pressure them and set unrealistic expectations. Don’t let your child become a victim, speak life over them and give them opportunities for success.

“I think that’s really the key, what are the gifts (my child has been given), how do we develop them, but also how do we help them with their disabilities. But remember it’s (about) life success, not just academic success.”
