Shannon’s son decided to chuck a sickie and wag school. So this morning on Brekky, she asked the family to share their funny stories of wagging school and getting caught!
On Monday, Shannon’s son said he had a headache, didn’t feel well and needed a day off school. In these COVID times, anyone saying they feel unwell sends a bit of fear through their family. So Shannon let him stay home from school. A few days later, the son said he was unwell again and needed another day off. When Shannon pointed out he was sick just the other day, he confessed without hesitation that he was wagging. “That was cap,” he said in teen-speak.
Kelly’s mum wrote her note so she could leave school early and go to her orthodontist appointment at 2 o’clock. “So I put a 1 in front of the 2 and made it 12 instead. So I only write 24 hour time on the notes I give my children.”
Tony and his mates wagged school to go watch a movie. They went on a ferry across the Swan River and accidentally ran into their boarding master. When he wasn’t looking they hid in the toilets. “Then we opened the door, jumped out and swam back. We got into a considerable amount of trouble.”
Kathy wagged school to go to her friend’s house. Her friend forgot her key and didn’t leave any windows open. So they got in through the manhole in the roof. “When we were just getting some afternoon tea her mum came home and found us all.”
