Professor Ian Harper is one of Australia’s best known economists.
He has worked closely with governments, banks, and corporate and professional service firms at the highest level.
This morning, Professor Harper spoke to a sold-out crowd at Crown Perth as the keynote speaker for the Governor’s Prayer Breakfast 2016.
The breakfast was attended by Premier Colin Barnett, Governor of WA Kerry Sanderson, The Fathering Project‘s Bruce Robinson, while the head students of St Mark’s Anglican Community School gave Bible readings and 98five’s general manager Bevan Jones was the master of ceremonies.
The first Governor’s Prayer Breakfast in WA was held in 1991 and attended by 27 people as a result of the joint effort between the State Parliamentary Prayer Group and the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship.
The event was driven by the collective desire to see a forum established to pray for our State and nation, to have our own leaders from all walks of life offer their prayers and be seen to do so.
The Chief Justice, the Govenor, the Premier, senior State Members of Parliament, the Police Commissioner or nominee, High School students and prominent business and community leaders regularly attend each year.
This year’s 1000 attendees were also delighted by 98five’s The Jazz Show host Michael Battersby, who performed This I Believe (The Creed).
