On Friday Kirste and Dan wandered down the freeway to Beeliar Primary School for another amazing Free Coffee Friday.
They spoke to the principal who says her favourite thing about her job is students excitedly running up to her “I feel a little bit like Beyoncé.” The chaplaincy supports each individual student’s unique challenges.. “You build the relationship then start to address issues they have in their lives..so many different kinds of issues.”
Students at Beeliar Primary School are taught to value sustainability and the environment. Through programs about farming, recycling and composting. Their waste less warriors collect fruit scraps and use it compost their gardens. “As educators we feel its our responsibility to pass on those values and demonstrate good practices.”
Like many schools, they recently celebrated Book Week which started with an assembly and costume parade. Shamus the therapy dog paid a visit and the staff read books along and performed puppet shows. Year 1 student Addison also shared her favourite book “My little pony cause they teach us about friendship.”
