The Fist Hike Project is a new creation that seeks to help refugees feel integrated and involved in Australian culture and environment.
The project aims to help refugees feel at home in Australia and to deepen their connection to their country.
The plan is to take the refugees along a small part of the Bibbulmun track and experience the beautiful West Australian country side.
The hike is planned for April, however there is a long way to go in preparation before the first hike can go ahead.
The mind behind the First Hike Project, Neil McCulloch, joined Kirste and Morro on Brekky to discuss the projects launch and what is being done to make the project go ahead.
If you a moved by this fantastic non-for-profit charity, then you can get connected with Neil on the First Hike Project’s Facebook.
