Family Partners

A Family Partner is a special supporter who gives a manageable, monthly donation by credit card or direct debit, to help Sonshine connect people right across Perth and beyond with a positive message of hope when they need it most. Whether you give $30, $50, $100 or any amount you choose – donations over $2 are fully tax deductible.

Why become a Family Partner?

Sonshine is a listener-supported community media ministry. More than half of our annual income is received from our listeners and supporters. Family Partners give us some certainty of income to meet the ongoing expenses of connecting people with life-changing radio and online media 24 hours a day, seven days a week across Perth and beyond.

Donations to Sonshine are fully tax-deductible.

What is a Family Partner?

Family Partners are people who decide up-front on an annual amount they wish to donate to Sonshine, and then spread their gift out, usually over monthly instalments. Their donation is made via credit card or direct debit on a preferred day each month.

Do I Have to Give Monthly or Can I Give More or Less Often?

You can arrange whatever amount and frequency of giving best suits your circumstances. Many of our Family Partners choose to give monthly, but some give fortnightly, quarterly, half yearly and even annually.

Are Donations Tax Deductible?

Yes. All donations to Sonshine are fully tax deductible.

How and When Do I Receive my Donation Tax Receipt?

Family Partners receive written confirmation when their pledge is set up, then, in early July each year, all Family Partners receive a receipt with a total of their donations for the financial year. The receipt is sent to the preferred email or postal address. If a receipt is ever lost, it can be re-sent.

What If My Circumstances Change?

If circumstances change, the donation amount can be adjusted, suspended for a period of time, or stopped altogether. As always, giving to Sonshine is an invitation and never an obligation.

What is Your Money Used For?

As with all donations to Sonshine, funds are used exclusively to support the operations of our media ministry. This enables Sonshine to continue to connect the people of Perth and beyond with the Christian message of hope, 24 hours day, every day of the year. It also enables us to partner with other community organisations, and promote the life-changing work they do, through the power of media.

Why are Family Partners so Important for 98five?

Sonshine has regular bills it needs to pay, just like any organisation. Having Family Partners pledge their commitment in advance, and pay that pledge in regular instalments, helps with our cash-flow and gives us confidence to better plan for the future.

How Are You Acknowledged?

All donors are acknowledged when first signed up, and automatically receive our regular communications, including newsletters, emails and their annual tax receipt. We thank Family Partners on air from time to time, using only their first name and suburb if they are comfortable to be acknowledged in this way. The pledge amount is never mentioned, because the amount people are able to give is different. Every gift is celebrated, no matter how big or small.
