Family Devotion: Bec meditates on the words of David while feeling anxious in isolation.

After an experience with COVID that was too close to home. And by “too close to home” we mean, in her home, infecting her family, Bec was shaken. Over the two weeks of isolation she tossed and turned at night. Wrestling anxious thoughts, “the high fever, what if it doesn’t drop”…”the homeschooling is really hard”…

But Bec found rest in scripture. Joshua 1 verse 9 says:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

and Psalm 56 verses 3 and 4 say:

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise — in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
