As if teens didn’t have enough to deal with, hormones, high school, Self Image, you throw acne into the mix and it just makes life difficult.
We often associate the consumption of sugar and greasy foods as the main cause for acne but as Dr Stuart said “this is not necessarily the case.”
“It’s very much a personal thing, so for some people certain foods can be a trigger. Other things that are more commonly triggers: hormone changes. you’ll often find that in women particularly as the hormone shifts as their cycle progresses through the month…they will have more or less acne.”
Dr Stuart joined Mike to give teens some hope that there are solutions to this “pimply” problem. As with most things, the sooner you can get on top of it the better. The longer acne is allowed to attack the skin, that’s when scarring occurs.
