Do fear-based campaigns actually work?

Dan Gregory, Behavioural Trends & Strategy Expert, joined Mike to tell us that they do work. During times of great change, international turmoil and overwhelming sense of uncertainty,  political parties tend to thrive.  It is in our nature to seek safety, serve our own self-interest and to lean towards the simplest solution presented to us.

“It actually works in politicians favour if people are a little bit fear based. Particularly, if you look at the history of elections, Incumbent governments and particularly governments of a conservative flavour typically do well in times of great change and great uncertainty. People have had enough change and they want a bit of stability.”
