Delilah Rose – Twenty Years

“I was never a country music fan, country music chose me. I grew up on Stones, Beach Boys, Queen, but when I started playing and writing songs, country music just happened.”

Incredible singer-songwriter and winner of the 2019 Best Group at the WA Country Music Awards, Delilah Rose joins Bec and Jeziel in the studio.

Delilah Rose grew up in a musical family, but her dad first past her the guitar when she was about 22. “He needed some help.” Delilah grew up in the Wheat Belt, and the Community Carols were just around the corner. He needed someone to play guitar in the show, so he taught her two chords and told her “she’d be right”.

We had to ask, how did that gig go?

“Well, I’m not going to lie. I’m glad that gig was in the Wheat Belt.” Since then Delilah has been dabbling in some way, shape or form which brought her to us, in the 98five studios. Delilah delighted us with her original song Twenty Years which she performed in celebration of WA Music Week.

Delilah is an absolute crack up and a total delight. Have a listen to the full conversation with Delilah Rose on The Drive Show below:

Stay tuned, we have an epic line up of live, local musicians in the studios over the next few days for WA Music Week.
