There is a general feelings of angst and anxiety in the community, particularly due to Covid-19. Sally Hewitt, from Aging Gratefully joined Mike to share some great advice on ‘Courage in the Face of Uncertainty’.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind” – 2 Timothy 1:7

Anxiety, fear and worry do not come from God, they are the domains of the enemy.  God has given us a spirit of power, love and sound mind. It’s up to us to lean into this truth and check where our focus lies. “Seek the first the kingdom of God.” -Matthew 6:33

Shift your focus from your circumstances and onto Jesus and all of God’s promises. “God uses everything, nothing that happens to us is ever wasted.” It could be said that circumstances are a channel for God to give us what we need, but we must meet Him. We meet him by choosing to give thanks.

Often we believe gratitude is a feeling or emotion, but it is also a choice. Sometimes we have to make the decision in our minds in order for it to drop into our hearts. Thank God for his unchanging goodness, his grace  for never leaving. Eventually you will feel the gratitude and it changes any uncertainty you may be experiencing  “This is why I love gratitude. God is at its centre and as I’ve said before this is where our hope is too.”

Be joyful always, pray at all times. be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus.” -1 Thessalonians 5 16-18
