Kirste and Dan had a chat with the YouthCARE chaplain of Leeming Senior High School Carl Hoff, and the Principal Brendan Wallwork about all of the programmes and benefits of having a school chaplain.

Pastoral care is a an important to all schools, as they support the students. “The role of the chaplain is the one job where their job is to listen help and support. They are really there for the kids.”

Carl helps run several programmes such as the breakfast club. Once a week students can enjoy toasties, smoothies, shakes and lots of fun games. “It’s not about the food its about engagement and hanging out with each other.” Rock and water is all about learning respect and understanding. “We do a bit of yoga and there is a bit of boxing in it…Its very fun and they like to get involved.”
