During Breast Cancer Awareness month, Dr Eric Khong from Breast Screen Western Australia shared the importance of mammograms for the woman of Western Australia.
“Screening mammograms are a method of detecting the breast cancer at an early stage — often before they can be felt,” Dr Khong said.
He encourages women to get a mammogram as “breast cancer is still the most common cancer in Australian Women” with the alarming statistic of 1 in 8 women developing breast cancer.
Breast Screen WA provides free screenings for women over the age of 40.
