For Miracles Day with CBM!

Miracles Day is an inspiring annual event held each August when Christian radio stations around Australian join forces with CBM to give the Miracle gift of sight-saving surgery to people living with cataracts in the world’s poorest countries.

In previous years, the Brekky team have travelled to Tanzania, Nepal, Vietnam and The Philippines. This year Brekky with Kirste, Corey and Morro are heading back to beautiful Nepal, spending a week broadcasting from one of the hospitals where these operations take place. We also have a very special guest coming with us; Sam Butler from the West Coast Eagles!

If you aren’t familiar with CBM’s Miracles Day, it’s very simple. Unfortunately in less-developed countries, a simple surgery like a cataracts eye operation is not as affordable or accessible as it is here in Australia. For just $33 you can give someone sight-saving surgery. On average, this operation takes just 12 minutes but changes the person’s life.

In low-income countries, people living with a disability are often unable to access basic rights and services. They are often excluded from employment, and social and community activities. Without these opportunities, people with disability often fall deeper into poverty.

Last year, Aussies from all across the country gave over 38,000 miracles! That means, 38,000 lives were totally transformed in just one day.
