Brisbane parents have the opportunity to score 1,000,000 brownie points with their kids… A real-life replica of the Heeler House, from the famed kid’s show Bluey, has been created in Queensland and you can stay in it!

The residential replica is a stunt by”Only on Airbnb”. Who has created one of a kind experiences like Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment from Sex and the City and the McCallister house from Home Alone, which Airbnb users can rent and stay in.

Bluey is set in the hills of Paddington and Red Hill. With St Brigid’s Church and the Mt Coot-tha TV transmission towers in the background. So what better place to recreate the Bluey’s family home IRL than a suburban street in Brisbane.

You’ll be sure to recognise the red letterbox, bone-shaped chimney and bay window. The sisters’ playroom has even been completed with a rainbow canopy, kiwi rug, Chattermax toy and magic xylophone. The backyard is a verdant oasis for family games – like Horsey Ride and Keepy Uppy – with a BBQ, kids’-sized trampoline, Grannies’ car, custom toadstool seats and bespoke dog garden gnomes.

On its opening weekend, it will set you back just $20 (or 10 DollarBucks a night) for a family of four.

There is a slight catch though, only one family can stay in the house on the launch weekend. Keen parents will have to register their interest on Tuesday, February 15 at 6:00 AM AWDT. If you’re lucky enough to get selected, your weekend will include:

  • A behind-the-scenes tour of the Ludo Studio, where Bluey is created
  • A takeaway feast in the lush backyard – Chinese food of course
  • Test your family’s culinary skills and try your hand at making a Duck Cake
  • A puppet-making craft session

For those of us outside of Brisbane

An Online Experience hosted by one of the Bluey composers, Jazz D’Arcy, part of the team behind the music in the series, along with Brisbane-based children’s choreographer, Cherie Lange, will be available for kids and their parents. Bookings for the Online Experience sessions open on Tuesday, February 15 at 6:00 AM AWDT at
